A Vow Renewal...

Little's First Initiation

Little's First Initiation as Ritual

"It's not FOUR years, it's FOR LIFE!"

That's what you always hear about Greek Life. The average sorority women can be heard pontificating this same quote a million times a day, either seriously or sarcastically. I was incredibly blessed in my collegian experience- I met great people and had amazing experiences.

I don't mean to get politic, but a lot of the time- Greek Life, sorority women and fraternity men get a bad rep. The media chooses to see the bad and never any of the good. But that's more for another time...

All I know is that I wouldn't change my experience as a collegian and now as an alumna for the world.

I loved I-Week from the beginning. After a long 8 weeks, we were finally going to be initiated, an official sister of Alpha Gamma Delta. Getting elected Vice President of Member Development and then being in charge of I-Week gave me a greater appreciation.

So now being an alum and having to watch the I-Week festivities from afar make it a little bit harder than any other voyeuristic session.

Getting to go back for Initiation is always an exciting time. This being my little's last one as a collegian makes it the much more exciting! One of my favorite alumna once said, "Initiation is like a vow renewal."

It really is.

When you turn a dress into a shirt

My goals in life have always been to be a stylist, celebrity or just personal stylist and ultimately a costume designer for a television show.

My favorite season to test out fashion trends, FALL, so I just wanted to give some tips, I get a lot of questions from my friends- believe you me, they're my favorite.

  • You can't let a silly number deter you from wearing what you want or societal norms.
  • Dress the body you have.
    • You can't forgo something just because it's not what you think you should be wearing or you're in between sizes or feel bad for being whatever size you are.
  • You. Are. Beautiful.
  • If it fits, if you like it. Buy it. Life is too short to wear uncomfortable, unflattering clothing.

More coming soon...

AHS Coven Feels

If you're ever looking for a show to watch, watch American Horror Story-- but just skip right to season 3, Coven. It's great. And if you learn anything from The Supreme-- you wear black on Wednesday!

Last week, Wednesday, I had the AHS Coven feels and it was just the perfect fall day!

Channeling Chanel Oberlin

This past Tuesday was Election Day! It was the first time I got to vote in person! I may be a nerd, but it was exhilarating to experience it! I hope you all got out and voted! If not, get registered-- there's always next time!

Besides Election Day, I worked Tuesday and Scream Queens came back from a mini hiatus due to the World Series! So in honor of its return, I did my best to channel Chanel Oberlin.

Are you watching Scream Queens? You should be! Do you watch American Horror Story? My favorite season to date is American Horror Story: Coven is my favorite season to date, and Emma Roberts is essentially the same character, it's quite a treat!

It's not too late to catch up on the first season, and I promise you won't be disappointed!

When You're Wednesday AF On a Thursday...

This may be a day late and a dollar short... It is the first week of November... But Happy Halloween! Halloween is a lot like Christmas-- in the way that it's always a time of excitement, getting to dressed up as a multitude of different characters or finally getting to be yourself, and then suddenly October 31st has come and gone and it's November 1st and people are ready for Christmas, or they're less eccentric, and they're now excited for Thanksgiving, or as I've heard working in retail-- Black Friday.

While I'm not sure where I fall on the spectrum... I do know that I'm just trying to enjoy my fallidays before it's winter... Because even though it's been in the seventies, I know it's coming!
