Flashback Fashion Friday: January 2020

January is the Sundays of Months... it gives off serious Sunday Scaries all month long and honestly... it's so much longer than 31 days even if that's what the calendar says... January has got to be the LONGEST month of the year, every year. This year did not disappoint in that regard. This month saw my sister leaving again... my mom and Thomas celebrated another year of life with their birthdays! Then we lost a great, RIP Kobe Bryant and 8 other individuals that were also on the helicopter crash. I started my PhD program and I changed my nail polish more times than I can count.

I realized that my constant need to change my nail polish comes from my anxiety and depression. I also realized that it's always in the background just wanting for a time to leech onto my emotions and not let go. Kobe's death was that moment. This was the first death since Cameron Boyce's that I had an emotional connection to. Cameron's death was just days from my grandma's death and honestly it was just a spiral. I cannot imagine how those closer to these tragedies are managing to continue with their lives. So I'll continue to pray for them and talk to my loved ones and work towards a greater understanding of my feelings...

Here's what I wore this month:

I had to go to the mall to visit an Apple Store to get my phone fixed and was there for so unbelievably long!

On Sunday, along with all the sadness- my phone stopped working. There was something wrong with the speaker which made it hard to use and talk to my support system and also just increasingly frustrating. Monday, I did a number of things to try and get things to work... nothing worked. Tuesday, Verizon sent me to Apple. It was an incredibly long experience but now- a couple days later, I can say it worked! While waiting for the repair, I went shopping at Forever 21! The rest of the week was paid up of those purchases.

January 29:
This blouse was from Forever 21!

January 30:
These pants and the sweater are from Forever 21!

This tie dye tee shirt dress is from Forever 21!

January was a wild and crazy month! Here's hoping that next month is better! KJB is turning 28 after all!

Flashback Fashion Friday: December

The time from Thanksgiving until Christmas is my favorite time of year (besides my birthday of course) so naturally enjoy all my Christmastime wardrobe. Thomas & I went to LA, and brought Mom & my sister up to Davis! It was another great Christmas, this year we didn't go to Ohio which was new and refreshing.

This entire year was long af! I know that the last few months were fast but the entirety of the year was so rough! But... WE MADE IT! 2019 is officially over! Here's what I wore this month:

With UCD Fall Quarter ending and having to get the house ready to close, the outfits weren't noteworthy and then going to LA for the start of break, I forgot my fitbit charger, so it died and I just lost track of the time and spent the majority of my time in pjs or sweats.

December 17:

For some reason, because we are Baileys, Target was calling our name so we went to the USC Village one!

December 18:

Once we left the house, we kept doing that- Mom, Thomas & I went to The Americana at The Brand and saw Santa!

December 19:

We went to the Cannabis Cafe in Hollywood. The burger was delicious as was the Ginger Ale. That's all I can speak to- but the everyone else seemed to be having a great time!

December 21:

We thought we were going to the Winter Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach! But we left LA too late, and were only going to make it as it was closing, so instead we went to Irvine for Island's and then returned home to LA.
December 22:

I was able to reunite with my long time friend, Jen from Ohio that is living and thriving in LA!

December 23:

I went to DryBar in DTLA and found myself in Paper Source... y'all know how much I love stationary. I could literally live inside a Paper Source!

December 24:

I was reunited with my sister for the first time in THREE years since she moved to North Dakota!

Once the day got going the movement from LA to Irvine allowed for the introduction to my fave new Femfetti sweatshirt!

I got everyone matching pjs for Christmas and also got us WCW Alum Sam Reid's Sicker Than Your Average tees! They're such a great purchase!

December 25:

We went to the hotel restaurant for dinner!

December 26:

On the 26th, we drove back to LA, we watched the all of HSM: The Musical: The Series on Disney+ and then on the 28th, we all drove up to Davis! Let me tell you how long that drive was... but it wasn't HALF as long the drive down when it was just Thomas & I. Having someone to talk to made the 5+ hour drive better!

December 29:

December 31:

For NYE, the family and I went to a hotel in Downtown Davis to ring in the new year! I ultimately spent the night reading through the Instagram: @ellie.from.finland. It's amazing and magical and since that night where I ended at May 2018, I'm up to November 2018! 10/10 would recommend!

Last year, I rung in the new year with a different dog, I was glad to get to have Thomas with me this year!

Here's to 2020! Happy New Year, y'all!
