Flashback Fashion Friday: January 2021

January 2021 was honestly a continuation of 2020... it was such a long ass month. At the end of the month, there was a power outage that lasted for three days... it is just not natural in 2021 to not have power, wifi and to sit in the dark 24/7 for three days.

I decided when 2021 came around that I wanted to wear the clothes that were in my closest that I hadn't been wearing and wanted to start using my make-up!

Here's what I wore this month:

The best part of January was seeing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris be inaugurated as President and Vice President. The worst part was the insurrection that happened on the sixth, not surprising but wildly dystopian.

Thomas turned FOUR! I also got to break out a whole bunch of new combinations. I started another challenge because of my graduate work, Individual and Friend 61 Day Challenge!! It's 61 days with daily 30 minute activity between 11 of us on Instagram, feel free to follow along!

I'm excited to share what I'm planning for my February OOTDs!

Flashback Fashion Friday: December 2020

Y'all we fucking did it... insert Kamala Harris' *we did it, joe*

December was truly atrocious... mom was firmly told that she has breast cancer, we're still waiting to hear what stage, so thoughts and prayers appreciated. Her friend was nice enough to make her a GoFundMe, because even though she has killed herself all her years of life working, the American healthcare system is STUPID DUMB and cancer is expensive.

Thomas and I went to LA to celebrate Christmas with mom, she had a doctor's appointment that she wanted me to go to and then we went to see some Christmas lights in a mall parking lot, Wonderland, gotta love LA!

Thomas and I came home on the 27th and mom had another appointment on the 29th and then decided to continue our plans of ringing the new year in together in Davis!

This month was perhaps one of the saddest since the summertime sadness... the winter months are meant to be spent together and not getting to do that was rough... so how lucky are we to get into the more severe winter months, why shouldn't January and February join in on the fun! Ya know...

Anyways, here's what I wore:

December 1

This month, I decided to take some liberties with the random pieces in my closet and see what kind of ensembles, I could come up with! Everyone on Tik Tok is embracing the turtleneck life and so I had to pair two of my favorite clothing items together to see what would happen!

This 'fit got me quite the compliments... even if all the compliments were from people I live with and see daily, it sure was fun!

December 3

Had to pull out my jewel studded, dark denim from Lane Bryant and take them for a spin!

December 4

With the beginning of December, comes the close of the holiday season, so naturally I had to pull out all my holiday sweaters! Though to be honest, this sweater can and will be seen throughout January & February, as just a winter sweater!

December 19

Deciding to lean into this whole Zoom Quarantine... we heralded in our first Ugly Christmas Sweater Party since 2017! It was quite fun! I even made a Kahoot! quiz! 12/10 would recommend!!

December 23

Thanks to COVID, this visit has become a once a year kind of reunion, and next time- Dr. Gelber will be an Arizona resident! But it's always fun to get together and gossip about hometown rumors and catch up on current events!

After a doctor's visit (previously mentioned, where I wore joggers) and this friendly visit, I spent the rest of my time with mom in my pjs or in sweats, there weren't any photos taken Christmas Day which while out of character fit the mould for 2020.

Once back in Davis, there weren't really any outfits of note... except for...

December 31

Nope, still nothing of note. Spent the day watching Schitts Creek & then The Prom. Didn’t even bother with any countdowns.

Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021... it's a low bar- but please be good (I'll settle for better!)
