Na na na, hey hey hey, Goodbye!!!

Another year has come and gone!

Last year I wrote that I wanted to continue to do well with my GPA and take on more responsibility within my chapter! I managed to do all of those things this year! So in that regard, 2013 was definitely successful! Not to mention, I went from an Android to an iPhone... So really- that's instant winning!

A year a a glance!
2013:
  • Lived on my own in an apartment
  • Finished my semester as Membership Coordinator
  • Got a Little!
  • Elected Vice President Member Development
  • Worked my last summer as a lifeguard
  • Lived in the sorority house for a semester
  • Strengthen my friendships
    • Reestablished old friendships
    • Made new friends
  • Said goodbye to anything that didn't make me a better person
    • habits
    • people
  • Learned about myself
    • Have to love yourself first, as long as I'm happy with who I am- everything else is just noise
    • "People to mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."
Hopes for 2014:
  • Dream Internship
  • Graduate
  • Maintain friendships
  • Find dream job
  • Get a new car
  • Travel
    • May- Georgia & North Carolina
    • and so much more...
  • Continue to grow as a person
    • Faith
    • Beliefs
    • Morals
Out with the old, In with the new!
A new day, a new month, a new semester, a new year!
While 2013 was a hectic year, full of a lot of experiences- it was a blast and I can't wait to see what 2014 has planned for me!

Fall 2013

Here's the semester in pictures, in no particular order:

It can be said that you are the people you surround yourself with. The people that are around you and the experiences you have a key in finding out who you are... And I'm blessed that I'm learning who I am, and what I can do and what I want to accomplish!

"Find ecstasy within yourself. It is not out there. It is in your innermost flowering. The one you are looking for is you."

Welp...

Clearly I didn't consider "writing more" that important in my grand scheme of things to do this semester. But seeing as this was one of the hardest semesters.
Here's a list of things in vary degrees of importance that happened:

  • My Big graduated
  • I passed INTRODUCTION TO FINANCE- I managed an 11/13 on my final(It's a damn Christmas miracle!)
  • I didn't make Dean's List but I did better than a 3.0, so beggars can't be choosers
  • I made some great friendships, BETTER
  • I'm planning a trip in May to visit a sister in Georgia and my best friend from high school in North Carolina for her graduation.
  • I managed to fall in love with yet ANOTHER CW show (Reign!)
    • And managed to get everyone else with tasted interested in it too!
  • I officially have 2 semesters left of college, it's like I'm a real senior now!
  • I passed the torch of my LAST Alpha Gam office
  • I learned a lot about people and myself this semester
Those are just a few things- I'm sure that more happened- it is 16 weeks after all... But at this point, those are the only things coming to mind! So hopefully, being on break, I'll be better at blogging! I also hope to get better at journaling! But with Christmas in less than 3 days! And the need to find an internship for the summer... I hope it doesn't fall by the way side.

Over the Hill

Sorry for the delay, this semester has gotten the best of me. But writing is high on my lists of things to get better at, much like Intro to Finance, Intro to Entreprenuership... I'm a senior! Let that just sink in... That's incredible! I never thought this day would come! Not like I never saw myself graduating college, but rather I never saw myself moving past high school when I envisioned my future, though I would often think of my adult life, where I was married and a mother. But never, did I ever, imagine that the stage of life between childhood and motherhood... I completely skipped over becoming an adult! And the craziest thing is that I swear high school, college- this time is just flying by! And soon enough, I'll be married with children, with a career and a house and I'll be looking back thinking, where did the time go, how did I get here?

"It's the oldest story in the world. One day you're seventeen and planning for someday,
and then quietly, without ever really noticing, someday
is today, and that someday is yesterday
and this is your life." - Nathan Scott, OTH

Closing One Chapter

Tuesday, August 13th, was my last day ever as a lifeguard at Pleasant Valley View Swim Club! It was bittersweet! I can't believe I spent 6 years there! It's time to close one chapter of my life and move on to the next one! I wonder what's in store!

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened
