KJB's Twenty-Nineteen Round Up

2019 is finally over! I cannot believe we made it through yet another year! Here's how 2019 broke down month by month:

January:

Mom & I came back from Ohio and reunited with Thomas! Taylor Swift's Reputation went up on Netflix (if you haven't watched it yet, HOW DARE YOU?!) We had THE Great Theta Flood of 2019! My initial necklaces came!

I got two new tattoos!

Thomas turned 2!

My retail therapy was crazy out of control! I bought plenty of new items from ASOS, Target, James Michelle & Pandora! In the name of my future birthday, I'm sure!

February:

I got three new tattoos!

I went to LA/The OC for my birthday celebration with Mom for an Alpha Gam event! Along with visiting the USC house (Mom's new home come March!)

I turned 27!

And we celebrated our second Valentine's Day!

My friend, Bekah, came to visit and we had a blast in Davis and San Francisco!

I got to see Panic! At The Disco in Sacramento and I got to shake hands with Brendan Urie!

I also started my acrylic nail downfall.

Lynn is the BEST!

My Birth Month was truly THE BEST!

March:

Thomas and I received our composite photos!
Changed up the nails
Mom stopped in Davis on her way from Pullman, WA to Los Angeles, CA!

And again!

Thomas and I celebrated St. Patrick's Day again!

I went to LA to the Museum of Selfies with mom!

I had wanted to get more tattoos but hit a bit of a roadblock, aka money!!

April:

In April, I started my unfortunate love affair with James Avery rings. And yet another shopping trip, this time to Forever 21.

Another polish change

This month, I started looking into going Blonder!

We celebrated another Gotcha Day with Thomas!

I went back to LA to see mom over Spring Break and I SAW BRITTANY FROM PUMP RULES!!

We went on a bus tour of LA and also to the Museum of Illusion! Beyonce's Homecoming came out on Netflix! If you haven't seen it, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND GO WATCH NOW!

another polish change

I reunited with my friend after 5 years of separation! Along with meeting her *future* husband! <3

May:

I went to see Ariana Grande in Sacramento! I got a haircut this month, which probably doesn't sound news worthy... but it very much was! I continued my search for the ultimate blonde hair AND The Met Gala happened.

*heart eyes*
Special Betty Who mani
After dreaming of this in 2010, I finally went to a Betty Who concert! I even went to a Meet & Greet!

I got this top from ASOS specifically for Betty Who and she LOVED it! Honestly y'all, if Betty Who is ever in your town or near you- RUN DON'T WALK TO THAT VENUE! You won't be disappointed!

Mom finally came back to Davis for a visit! My Pandora and James Avery obsession reared it's ugly head again! And yet another, ASOS special delivery!

I saw the academic school year coming to an end and some of the live ins from when I first moved to Davis were graduating!

June:

Wedding mani
Mom came for a visit so I could head back to Ohio for a wedding! Along with seeing so many Lancaster friends and going to Fiesta and Penn Station and seeing my grandma (for one last time it would turn out).

Then I returned to Davis for a long, hot summer!

So many of my friends got engaged in June (CONGRATS to them!). And then my Little Babe finally shared with everyone that she was having Baby Salem! Y'all, I'm great at keeping secrets!

I finally went blonder... was it the full out blonde I wanted? NO. No it was not. But they did put more blonde in to it.

I said goodbye to my acrylic nails!

July:

Mom and I went to Beaverton, OR to celebrate my first friend's 50th birthday!

We also lost my grandma during this trip.

She wasn't in high spirits when I saw her the last time in May, and unfortunately mom and I weren't able to make it back to Ohio for the funeral, but mom was able to get my sister back there from North Dakota to say goodbye.

After returning to Davis, I got excited for Shawn Mendes! I thought I was seeing him in 2018, a couple days after seeing Harry Styles, but here we were, FINALLY READY TO SEE HIM!!!

Y'all go see Shawn Mendes in concert WHENEVER YOU CAN! He's so damn good!

Got a ring to honor grandpa and grandma, H & AR. Thank you, James Avery!

After this concert, Thomas and I went back to SF for the English Bulldog Meetup.

And then, I went to San Diego for a job training!

Once I returned from San Diego, I welcomed three of my friends for their first visit to NorCal!

While visiting we went to the Golden Gate Bridge, Aquarium of the Bay, on a boat ride around Alcatraz, MOIC, Napa and Crissy Field.

July was a whirlwind that ended with seeing Kathy Griffin's new movie in Sacramento, but it was so fun to go to so many different places and see and meet some of my favorite people!

July was when the lid fell off my money pit and I realized I was next to destitute.

August:

Shortly after my friends left, I went to see mom in LA again! We went to Newport Beach and Laguna Beach. We went to our favorite, The Sawdust Festival. She took me to The Pageant of the Masters and it was glorious!

Descendants 3 came out and mourning Cameron Boyce hurt my heart. </3

I also ran into serious issues with my car and started trying to figure out what the solution was. Was it going to be looking for a loan? Nope, difficult. Selling my car? Trying to make some payment plan? Apparently you have to have the car paid in full to get rid of it. You can't drive a car that can't regulate it's own coolant system. Cars are increasingly expensive and because my car was worth less than I could sell it for with the issues it was having, not to mention the loan I was still paying off- I had to buy the new car, could not lease. And because I had a previous loan that wasn't fully paid, that was added on to the new car so my payment was twice what it was. BUT THE CAR IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT I WAS WORKING WITH!

I also started painting my own nails again... why? Cause your girl is BROKE! That didn't stop me from buying new polish at Target or TJ Maxx and also finding BEAUTIFUL rings at TJ Maxx!

The NEW Taylor Swift album, Lover, came out! SO DAMN GOOD! With summer ending, I started getting ready for Sara's bachelorette in Chicago!

September:

Our last day of full day in Chicago, we went to the beach and then a Japanese Steakhouse for dinner and then a boat ride!

And then after all that fun, I went home to deal with my terrible ear and to take Thomas to the vet!

Then it was time for another trip... this time more local, San Francisco! I went on my first Recruitment visit in a year.

Apple announced a new phone! THREE to be exact! The Target in San Francisco had the full anniversary collaboration!

Even though I had put myself on a moratorium some months earlier, I found myself buying a new purse, knowing I would eventually end up with the Midnight Green 11 Pro Max, some nail polish and another ring from TJ Maxx. Along with getting ready for my Little Babe's Baby Shower, and the wedding I was in and another I was gonna be a guest at when I went back to Ohio at the end of the month.

Rehearsal Dinner

Getting to stand up with my best friend and her best friends and watching her getting married was truly a once in a lifetime experience... I'm so lucky that I have more friends that'll be getting married soon!

Bridesmaid At Your Service!

Team Petty

Getting to reunite with some of my best friends was another fun part of going to this wedding. Honestly, the most fun I've ever had!

Getting to see my Little Babe and her baby bump, Salem! This shower had THE BEST FOOD!

I even got to use my day before wedding make up and hair! What a great day!

Remember them?!

Then I got to go to another wedding! Thankful that my bff was willing to be my date for another wedding! She was at Friday's wedding too!

My last full day in Ohio, I went to Penn Station (again, I went the day before the first day). Then I met up with another bff.

And then I returned home... knowing I would be back in roughly two-ish weeks to go to another wedding AND TO SEE CELINE DION!

October:

I came home to my new license plates, so my car was super official!

Mom came back for a visit!

Thomas and I got ready for Halloween! And then it was time for me to go back to Ohio!

Celine Dion Ready!!
The Glitter Girls

Y'all, CELINE DION IS A FUCKING ICON FOR A MOTHER FUCKING REASON! If you can, go see her!

After Celine Dion, it was time for another wedding!

Thankful for great friends that will ALWAYS lend me a couch or a bed!

Thanks El-Chill!

I was able to reunite with my bff and her itty bitty baby and then our other bff!

And then I said goodbye to Cleveland until June!

Upon returning, Thomas & I celebrated our 2 year anniversary in Davis!

And then we celebrated Halloween with the women of Kappa Alpha Theta with Thomas having a couple of costume changes.

Happy Halloween!

November:

In November, Thomas & I finally made it back to San Francisco for the Monthly English Bulldog Meetup! We met countless new bulldogs and so many new friends!

Mom came up from LA for Thanksgiving and spent it with Thomas and me! We finally watched the National Dog Show after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and saw Thor, the bulldog win!

We went to Black Bear Diner for Thanksgiving Dinner. While Mom was here we also went to see Frozen 2! LET ME TELL YOU, you want to go Into The Unknown!

December:

The final month of the decade! My little babe had her baby! Welcome Baby Salem! Thomas & I started another year's 25 Days of Christmas!

I got my big ACCEPTANCE envelope from Indiana Wesleyan University for my Ph.D. program!

Thomas & I went south for Christmas after UCD went on Winter Break!

Thomas, Mom & I went to go see Santa!

I was reunited with my sister for the first time in THREE years! We spent Christmas together in Irvine and then we all came back up to Davis for New Year's Eve for the rest of Jade's trip.

Heading to Irvine

We even got to reunite with family friends from our time in Irvine.

Merry Christmas from the Baileys
We'll see what the rest of my sister's visit has in store for us! Hope you all have a great new year, thanks for sticking around these last couple of years! We aren't 10 years old yet, but I appreciate the love and support!

Here's to a brand new year! Let's get it!

Happy New Year, y'all!

xo,
KJB
