To gain understanding that wisdom may be vouchsafed to me.
To develop and prize health and vigor of body.
To cultivate acquaintance with many whom I meet.
To cherish friendships with but a chosen few and to study the perfecting of those friendships.
To welcome the opportunity of contributing to the world's work in the community where I am placed because of the joy of service thereby bestowed and the talent of leadership multiplied.
To honor my home, my country, my religious faith.
To hold truth inviolable, sincerity essential, kindness invaluable.
To covet beauty in environment, manner, word and thought.
To possess high ideals and to attain somewhat unto them.
This shall be my purpose that those who know me may esteem Alpha Gamma Delta for her attainments, revere her for her purposes and love her for her Womanhood.

I can honestly say that
Alpha Gamma Delta is a major component in the person that I am. I know that it's the reason I miss Akron everyday, and that's saying something! Joining this organization
sophomore year changed everything in my life for the better.
Going away to school was difficult to say the least but joining Alpha Gamma Delta was as easy as coming
home.
Alpha Gamma Delta was founded May 30, 1904; so today is our Founder's Day. 111 years. I am a
proud Alpha Gam every day, but especially today! There are barely words to scratch the surface on my feelings for Alpha Gam, the organization, the sisterhood, our purpose. Just scroll through my previous posts, I'm like a proud mom doling out constant praise.
Alpha Gamma Delta was my home away from home for 3 years, I met some of the best people I've ever met within the organization and because of the organization. I have gotten to experience incredible things because of my sisters and with my sisters, and we have
done incredible things.
Founder's Day is a lot like Mother's Day and Father's Day or specific to the sorority world, Initiation and Recruitment, it's a day that reminds you of all the things that you already know but were taking for granted. The founders of Alpha Gamma Delta saw that they there was a need for something very specific and they decided to do something about it, and it's been around, changing and molding lives for 111 years, and for that I'm forever grateful. Alpha Gamma Delta didn't make me special, but it helped me realize what was in me all along.
I wasn't born an Alpha Gamma Delta but I got here as soon as I could.
Happy Founder's Day!
xoxo
