I'm With Her

"I am my mother's daughter and my daughter's mother."

Politics aside, watching the FIRST female presidential candidate accept the nomination with my mom last night was truly unreal. She's my hero, my inspiration and my number one supporter. She's given me the confidence that I can do anything I set my mind to. I remember in the 6th grade when I wanted to be the first Black, Woman President- and somewhere along this road called life- I stopped thinking I COULD become president.

Then in 2008 Barack Obama became our first African-American president and man, was that huge- I'm still realizing how that makes me feel very day. Now in 2016, as a 24 year old woman- muddling through life, I have the pleasure of seeing a WOMAN receive and accept the Presidential nomination.

I now get to live in a world where I can achieve anything I work for. ANYTHING. And my future children can now take for granted that no matter what their skin may look like, or their gender... no matter what- they too could one day become the President of the United States of America. And that's why I wake up this morning so in love with America and full of hope for our future. ❤️πŸ’™πŸ‘¦πŸΎπŸ‘©πŸΌπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ So make sure come November 8th, you go out and vote! No matter who the candidate is, because there are plenty of people who dream of the opportunities we have, and you shouldn't take that for granted. πŸ’‹ #DNC #ImWithHer #ImWithThem #DemConvention #KJBMeetsWorld

"When there's no glass ceiling, the sky's the limit"

Thank you, Hillary! Thank you, Barack! Thank you to the millions of women and men who have fought tirelessly to make this dream, a reality.

xo,

KJB
