This past weekend I went to Akron...
Since graduating and moving home last December, I like to get back to Akron as much as possible.
So my best friend/PIC/pledge sister's 24th birthday celebration and Formal Recruitment seemed like the perfect time to venture to Akron! Birthdays and Recruitment are my favorite things!
It's not FOUR years, but for LIFE!

When the Alum get ahold of the letters:
Remember when you were little and you waited all year for Santa to come? You did your best to be your best and you were nice to everyone you met in the off chance that Santa was watching? Well fast forward a few years and now you know the face behind the mask- there's a little less magic in the world cause you know the truth, but there's still magic all around when you look for it...
The leaves change colors when the seasons change, babies are born everyday, people you haven't seen in awhile come home, you pass that test you thought you failed, you come into money that you desperately needed... and if you're a sorority woman- your disaffiliated sisters,
Rho Gammas, come home and with them, you welcome home a whole hoard of new sisters!
When I was an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta, there were 2 weeks that made me love my chapter more than any other week- and those were Formal Recruitment and Initiation Week.
For sorority women, Bid Day is akin to Christmas!
After the time commitment and stress of Recruitment week after that final party of Preference Round- the buzz of excitement that takes over is something similar to Christmas Eve!
So when Bid Day comes around the following morning, the excitement is overwhelming, when the time comes to go welcome home your Rho Gammas, and your new members the culmination of previous week- the feeling is almost euphoric when the time finally comes for the Rho Gams and new sisters to run "home" to their awaiting sisters.
My last and final Bid Day, was my best bid day ever! My friend and I asked her friend to come take photos, candids and posed, for us that day. Knowing someone was taking photos and capturing these great moments made it a great experience and an enjoyable time. So knowing I would be in Akron for Bid Day, and knowing it was my little's last bid day, I had to go be a good mom and shadow her with her fancy schmancy camera in tow. I was able to capture some pretty fantastic moments that speak for themselves if I do say so myself.
