WCW: Cup of Jules Meets World

It's Wednesday so it's time to meet our next #WCW!

Meet Julia of Cup of Jules!

Can you tell me about your background? School? What set you up for this endeavor?
This Fall I will be a Junior at Loyola University of Chicago. I am an Advertising/Public Relations major so I have really been working a lot with social media and blog writing for classes, and they gave me the tools I needed to start my own blog.

If you’re not doing it, what would your dream job be?
I would love to do PR or Advertising for a company or business I’m really passionate about. Some of my main passions include fashion, art, history, and theater Some places I would love to do business with is the Art Institute of Chicago, Kate Spade, or Broadway in Chicago. Being able to combine my passions with my career would be a dream come true.
How important is social media to your business?
Very important. I rely on social media such as Instagram to build my audience for my blog and to reach out to others in the blogging community. Social media is also really important for my career in PR and advertising

What’s the average day in the life of Julia look like?
Right now an average day for me is working my internship at the Decorative Arts Center during the day. After work I like to work out by either going on a run or going to the gym, and in my spare time and on the weekends I like to spend time with family and friends always trying to find something new and different to do.

How would you describe your personal style?
My style is a little bit of everything. A little bohemian, a little preppy, a little edgy. It really depends on my mood that day. But I defiantly lean towards bright or bold colors. I like to have fun with style so it is very rare for me to wear something completely plain or muted.

What makes up your wardrobe?
Bright colors, patterns such as stripes and polka dots. This season I am loving off shoulder tops as well as cropped wide legged pants. Also tons of jewelry I wear at least 2 pieces of jewelry everyday.
Who is your fashion icon?

Anne Hathaway always looks so amazing and put together. I actually recently got this dress because it reminded me of the dress she wore to the Alice Through the Looking Glass premiere. I also love Jess Day’s style from New Girl. It’s so fun and quirky, every time I watch the show I always pick out an outfit I want.

What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment?
Moving to Chicago was a big change for me and I wasn’t sure I could handle it. It turned out to be one of the greatest decisions of my life thus far and I’m honestly thrilled I had the courage to do it!

What is your ‘must have’ accessory?
Statement Earrings are always a must! Also I can’t go a day without wearing a colorful lipstick

What’s next for you?
I’m hoping to get another internship in Chicago in the Fall, as well as study abroad in Europe in the Spring. I also hope to continue and expand my blog and advance in my career.

Thanks Julia!

xo,
KJB
